Manu Kumar Jain, CEO, Xiaomi India, took to social media websites to announce that the company has shipped four million smart TVs in the country. It is to be noted that the China-based brand only retails smart TVs in India.
“Four Million Mi TVs shipped in just two years. We have achieved an amazing feat of shipping four million Mi TVs in a short span of just two years. I’m proud that Mi TV has fueled the growth of Smart TV usage in India. Thank you for the never-ending love & support, Mi fans,” read one of Jain’s latest tweets.

Mi LED TV manufacturing with Dixon Technologies
The China-based consumer electronics brand had started Mi LED TV manufacturing in partnership with Dixon Technologies in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh in 2018. The move, as the brand informed earlier, was a step towards its commitment to country’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
“We are proud to take the next step with the support of Andhra Pradesh. After a successful smartphone journey, we are beginning a new chapter with Mi LED TV manufacturing in India.” The MD added that with Xiaomi’s increased focus on local manufacturing, it would be able to increase the supply and reach out to the Mi Fans,” Jain had said during the announcement.
98-inch Redmi TV announced in China
Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has recently announced the launch of a 98-inch smart TV in its home country. The company has has priced this TV at 19,999 Yuan (approx Rs 2,15,400).
It features a 98-inch 4K HDR display equipped with ‘Motion Estimation And Motion Compensation (MEMC) technology. The company is promising a 178-degree viewing angle along with HDR 10 support and 192 partitions dynamic backlight.
