Redmi India’s official Twitter handle revealed that the company has sold more than one crore twenty lakh devices this Diwali in the country. Retweeted by company’s global VP, Manu Kumar Jain, the tweet mentioned that these figures included 8.5 million smartphones.

48 per cent YOY growth in smart TVs vertical
The company shared that it has recorded 48 per cent growth YoY in terms of smart TV sales in India. Xiaomi had recently introduced one of its large screen TVs in India as well.
It is also to be noted here that Xiaomi only retails smart TVs through its portfolio in India. Xiaomi , as per the tweets made by company’s Twitter handle, claims to have sold more than six lakh TVs in India.
As of March 31, 2019, global shipments of the smart TVs reached 2.6 million units, representing a year-on-year growth of 99.8 per cent. Excluding smart TVs and laptops, the Group’s ecosystem products, such as Mi Band, Mi Air Purifier and Mi Electric Scooter, also achieved robust sales growth.
It is also to be noted here that the company has forayed into water purifiers business in India. Xiaomi has also introduced refrigerators in China, which it might soon bring to India as well.
42 per cent growth in ecosystem products
Xiaomi, as per the company, was also able to sell more than three million ecosyste products this Diwali. As a matter of fact, Xiaomi’s revenue from the IoT and lifestyle products segment rose by 56.5 per cent to RMB 12.0 billion (approx $1.74 billion) over the corresponding period of 2018 (first quarter 2019). During the reporting period, the group’s smart TVs continued to lead the way, ranking first in terms of shipments for two consecutive quarters in mainland China.
As of March 31, 2019, the number of connected IoT devices (excluding smartphones and laptops) on Xiaomi’s IoT platform, as per the company, reached approximately 171 million units, a quarter-over-quarter increase of 13.7 per cent and a year-on-year increase of 70.0 per cent.
