Xiaomi Sold 9,10,000 TVs in One Day in its Home Country

Xiaomi informed that it has become Southeast Asia’s best-selling brand in mobiles and tablets category on e-commerce platform Lazada. The company led sales on Singles Day sales in China. Singles day, falling every year on November 11 in Xiaomi’s home country, is generally known for consumer electronics sales.

“As the leading smart TV brand in China, Xiaomi sold more than 910,000 TV sets on Monday in the market, ranking first in terms of both sales volume and sales revenue on three major e-commerce platforms – Tmall, JD and Suning,” read Xiaomi’s official statement.

5.55 million units of connected smart devices sold in one day

Interestingly, while Xiaomi became one of the bestselling brands in its home country, China, also registered sales of 5.55 million connected smart devices in a single day. This figure represents 148 per cent rise in sales of these devices year on year.

Xiaomi sold more than 910,000 TV sets on Singles Day in the market. The newly launched Mi Watch’s sales revenue reached more than 100 million RMB.

“An important element of Xiaomi’s AIoT (AI+IoT) strategy has focused on large home appliances, which delivered strong performance during the day, ranking 4th in terms of sales revenue on Tmall, JD and Suning. Thanks to the “Smartphone + AIoT” dual-engine strategy, Xiaomi’s user base has continuously expanded while the number of devices connected to the platform grows,” read Xiaomi’s official statement.

12.5 million devices in India in one month

The company recently shared that it has recorded 48 per cent growth YoY in terms of smart TV sales in India. Xiaomi had recently introduced one of its large screen TVs in India as well. Redmi India’s official Twitter handle had recently revealed that the company has sold more than one crore twenty lakh devices this Diwali in the country.

It is to be noted here that Xiaomi only retails smart TVs through its portfolio in India. Xiaomi , as per the tweets made by company’s Twitter handle, claims to have sold more than six lakh TVs in India.

As of March 31, 2019, global shipments of the Xiaomi smart TVs had reached 2.6 million units, representing a year-on-year growth of 99.8 per cent. Excluding smart TVs and laptops, the Group’s ecosystem products, such as Mi Band, Mi Air Purifier and Mi Electric Scooter, also achieved robust sales growth.
