Astrum, a new technology brand in India has unveiled a dedicated innovation centre in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The company has also announced hiring of Yogesh Dhandharia as the director for Astrum Innovations India.
“Every business needs to be secure by design and I am excited to take up this new role to help strengthen the research and development capabilities of Astrum, which will go a long way in further establishing our leadership position and speed up innovation for our customers,” said Yogesh Dhandharia, recently appointed director of Astrum Innovations India.
Sharing his thoughts on design, he told EFY Group, “We are gearing up with innovative and user-friendly products cater to the growing demand of Hi-Tech accessories. Therefore we are first working on smart audio range of products. We have joint venture with one of China’s leading company LLKER who will provide us with a CBD (Creative Users, business and designers) system.”
Iot as new technology
The company, apart from focusing on electronics accessories in India, will also focus on embedding IoT aka smart features in them. It is to be noted here that Astrum retails mobile accessories, audio devices, IT, LED lights, along with a complete range of car accessories including but not limited to car charger and car mobile holders.
Speaking about the Innovation centre, Manoj Kumar Pansari, chairman and Managing Director said, “Today, we stand as a developing new technology brand and our vision is to stand as the No. 1 accessories brand in the world. With this, we are focusing on Indian market by tuning the products to suit Indian requirements. Our RandD will cover the complete process from concept to production of the ideas.”
Yogesh said, “We are focusing more on making all our existing range smart and digitally transformed. Market intelligence predicts that the IoT market is growing at a CAGR of 50 per cent and will reach $500 billion by 2021 and everyone are trying to get a part of the pie, IoT has enabled accessories too are a part of this growth and it will be difficult to categorize at this point.”
Astrum’s production facility worth Rs 1000 million
Interestingly, the company is also developing its manufacturing facility in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Astrum had recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Andhra Pradesh Government.
Manoj Kumar Pansari, speaking exclusively to EFY Group said, “We have observed a good response from India, therefore, It has motivated us to invest more in Indian market. We have received good response in audio and mobility sector and we are constantly working on improving and bringing up new technology in the market.”
He added, “Our R&D team is constantly working on developing new products, which are enhancing the living standards of our Consumers. Currently there is lot of work being done on the smart products category for the future. The aim is to make people experience the difference.”
