Confirmed: Karbonn’s Jaina Group Holds Sansui Brand License in India

The Jaina group has also inked an alliance with Nakamichi. Nakamichi and Sansui are Japan based consumer electronics giants

Jaina Group, the Delhi based business conglomerate with interests in telecom and consumer durables has got into alliance with the Japanese consumer electronics giants – Sansui and Nakamichi. With this venture, the Group will now expand the pan India presence of the niche consumer durable and home appliance brands through its extensive distribution channel.

This will include a diverse product portfolio including smart televisions, home audio systems, refrigerators, washing machines, air-conditioners and small kitchen appliances. The products will also be available across leading online retail/e-commerce platforms.

Pardeep Jain, MD, Jaina Group stated, “Jaina Group with its 23 years of excellence in Digital Revolution will be a strong point for these brands in the country. With these acquisitions, we are optimistic about rebuilding and amplifying the niche brands’ affinity in the Indian market.”

History of Sansui and Nakamichi

Headquartered in Tokyo, Sansui is a globally recognized brand name with more than 8 decades of operations in consumer electronics. It is one of the world leaders with a firmly entrenched brand awareness and distribution in the value for money consumer segment. Sansui had a turnover of Rs 1,627 crores in 2016 and with its re-entrance in the Indian market. Videocon was the last Sansui brand license holder in India.

Nakamichi, on the other hand, was founded in 1948 and has since established itself as a creator of audio products. It delivers audio products in the premium segment. Company’s official statement read, “The Nakamichi product line is driven by an intense scientific curiosity, the love of music, and commitment to uncompromising quality and performance.”

Jaina Group was incepted in 1995 as a distribution house and in short span it represented esteemed global brands in the country including HTC, Motorola, Samsung, Siemens, Panasonic and Philips (LCD devices). The group is looking forward to a series of product launches in the coming months for both the brands that will be in line with the diverse consumer taste and will also foray into IoT products in the near future.

Also, we will strengthen the channel base further to ensure easy availability and better after sales service network.”
