Mitsubishi Electric has opened two exclusive MEQ Hiroba Showrooms, on each in Rajkot and Mehsana cities of Gujarat. The company has also inaugurated an exclusive MEQ Cooling Planet in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. In an recent conversation with EFY Group, Mitsubishi Electric’s India leadership had said that it was focusing on expanding in the offline sales channel.
Yozo Ito, business unit head and director, Living Environment Division, Mitsubishi Electric India told EFY Group, “Being a Japan-based consumer electronics brand, Mitsubishi Electric does not believe in an aggressive approach. We have a very strong offline network in India. In fact, like most of the young brands, we do not believe in advertising and marketing our products beyond a level. Our Network of sales and service dealers is covering almost entire country.”
First MEQ Hiroba in India was opened in Panaji (Goa) in 2013
The first MEQ Hiroba in India was opened in Panaji (Goa) in 2013, and so far, Mitsubishi Electric has introduced 100 MEQ Hiroba stores in various parts of the country. The prime objective behind all these MEQ Hiroba showrooms, as per the company, is increasing customer engagement besides enhancing the brand’s outreach.
Mitsubishi’s official statement read, “Our esteemed Channel Partners inaugurated MEQ Hiroba in Rajkot (Gujarat) is inaugurated on 1st August 2019 and on the very next day, i.e., 02 August 2019, another MEQ Hiroba was opened in Mehsana (Gujarat). In association with Shree Krishna Enterprises, MEQ Hiroba in Rajkot is situated at Bhaktinagar Station Road, Opp. Central Engineering, Udyognagar Corner. And, another association with Gopi Corporation, MEQ Hiroba in Mehsana is located at 27-Dharkesh Cross Point, Panchot By-Pass Circle, Radhanpur Road.”

Operations based on sales and service network model
Mitsubishi Electric, as per its leadership, is very critical about dealer margins. They said that their dealer margins are among the best in the industry. Mitsubishi Electric has over 3000 retail outlets in upcountry towns to target Tier-II,Tier-III cities.
Yozo Ito said, “Customer retention through recommending most suitable product, quality installation and good after sales service is what we tell our dealers to focus on.”
He continued, “Our channel of operations is based on sales and service network model. Most of the dealers we have in our sales network are also our service dealers. This helps us give our consumers the best AC experience. Mitsubishi Electric has more than a 1000 sales and service dealers in India. We as company philosophy allow dealers to maximize their profits &expand only when our existing dealer find it difficult to service the geography he has been assigned.”
