- The sales of inverter ACs have slowly started taking over sales of conventional ACs
- Inverter ACs, as per Vltas, can help save up to 25 per cent electricity

Almost every brand has embarked upon a journey aimed towards making consumer electronics sustainable for the environment. When we talk about ACs, we usually think about the comfort these provide us during summers. However, we forget that these consume a lot of electricity. Not only these cost big bills but also have a negative impact on mother nature.
Inverter ACs are powered by the DC Inverter technology, which is the latest energy efficient technology used in air conditioners. It reduces power consumption by maintaining an ideal temperature without frequently turning the compressor on and off. It also operates at different capacities based on the cooling requirements. Thus, giving maximum comfort at minimal power consumption. Voltas was the first brand in the room AC category to launch window air conditioners powered by Inverter technology.
How is it environment friendly?
Inverter AC technology is the latest energy efficient technology in the field of air conditioners. All the ACs in the Voltas All Star Inverter AC portfolio come with R401A refrigerant. This refrigerant does not contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer.
It is better at absorbing and releasing heat than other refrigerants, making it more efficient to use. Moreover, use of this refrigerant requires tougher and more durable AC parts, which reduces the risk of the system overheating & breaking down.
Steady cooling and steady savings
Voltas All Star Inverter ACs are powered by the unique “Two Stage Steady Cool Compressor”. It has two stage expansion of the refrigerant under two stage compression that leads to Steady Cooling & Steady Savings. Moreover, the AC has 5D DC Motor technology where all the motors in the AC work on DC principle, which helps the AC to be more energy efficient & noise free.
Apart from these, there are other features like high ambient cooling (upto 55 deg C), super silent operation (upto 18 dB(A)), intelligent sleep modes and seven stage filtration advantage.
Saving of up to 25 per cent electricity
Inverter ACs are more energy efficient compared to fixed speed split ACs. Starting from January 2018, Bureau of Energy Efficiency has introduced new star rating methodology called Indian Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (ISEER) for air conditioners.
Within Inverter ACs, a consumer can opt for three, four and five star rated products. A three star rated Inverter AC ISEER rating ranges from 3.5 to 3.8, while a five star rated Inverter AC ISEER rating ranges from 4.5+.
The implication is that a higher ISEER ratio means lesser power consumption for consumers. Essentially, a five star rated Inverter Split AC saves up to 25 per cent of electricity more than a one star fixed speed split AC.
