32-inch Smart TV Costing Just Rs 4,999 Launched in India

Samy 32-inch smart TV runs advertisements out-of-the-box. The brand is also asking for consumers’ aadhar numbers while registering for the product. 

Samy, a new name in the Indian TV market, has announced the launch of a new 32-inch smart TV, priced at just Rs 4,999. We had earlier reported that several China-based OEMs were selling 32-inch LED TVs at as low as Rs 5,000 during an event in Delhi. However, those prices were for bulk orders. The Rs 4,999 amount announced by Samy TV is the retail price.

The company has made it mandatory for interested buyers to register their aadhar numbers with the company. Samy claims that the affordable cost of the TV is possible because of the locally sourced parts and the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Samy’s smartphone app shows that the brand has plans to launch 85 inches and 98 inches smart TVs as well. Its current portfolio includes 32, 40, 43, 48, 55 and 65-inch smart TVs in India.

Out-of-box advertisement

Samy 32-inch smart TV runs advertisements out-of-the-box. It simply means that the brand may have tied up with third parties in order to keep the TV prices so affordable.

Moreover, the company is only accepting orders that are cash-on-delivery. It specifically said that no advance or online payments will be entertained. Though the brand is showing the price to be Rs 4,999, there will be extra amount for home delivery and taxes. Final price of a Samy 32-inch TV ordered from Noida after adding the taxes and home delivery fee will go up to around Rs 8,000. The company said that it will only be selling TVs through its online app.

Samy 32-inch smart TV features

The Samy TV is based on the Android platform. The brand is saying that the TV supports all apps and services. Samy TV’s IPS HD panel offers 1366 x 768 resolution.

It comes equipped with a pair of 10W speakers. In terms of connectivity, Samy 32-inch smart TV can be connected to internet using WiFi networks. It also has two USB and two HDMI ports. Samy said that smart remote and wall mount accessories are a part of the package shipped with the TV.

In terms of specifications, the TV comes with the Android TV platform and is said to support all the smart apps and services. It has an IPS HD panel with 1366 x 768 resolution. At the audio front, the TV has a pair of 10W speakers and in terms of connectivity, the TV comes with 2 HDMI as well as 2 USB ports. The Samy 32-inch TV weighs around 6 Kg and the wall mount accessories and smart remote are included in the box.
