Coolpad Launches 3 Smartphones, Eyes Offline Expansion

The company is also planning to launch a few online exclusive products. Coolpad’s President sees India as one of the biggest markets for the brand

China based smartphone maker Coolpad has announced the launch of three smartphones under ‘Mega’ series in India. With all the three smartphones priced below Rs 7,000, it seems as the brand is looking to target the entry level smartphone category in the country.

The latest smartphones from Coolpad include Mega 5, Mega 5C and Mega 5M. Coolpad has priced these at Rs 6,999, Rs 4,499 and Rs 3,999, respectively.

Coolpad Group President Fisher Yuan, on the launch, said “India has been one of the largest markets for Coolpad, we are trying to expand the offline presence of the brand with the Mega series products.”

He also referred to Indian market as one of the biggest for the brand, and mentioned, “We are looking forward to revive brand Coolpad in India with few more aggressive products in the coming months as well as working relentlessly to provide good after-sales services as well.”

The company plans to launch a few online exclusive products as well.

Coolpad Mega 5M smartphone features

Coolpad Mega 5M, makes for the most affordable smartphone launched by the brand in India. Priced at Rs 3,999, this latest Coolpad smartphone sports a a 5-inch HD display. It comes powered by a quad-core processor mated with 1 GB RAM.

The company has equipped the Coolpad Mega 5M with a 5 megapixel shooter at the back. It has 3 dedicated card slots, and a 16 GB internal memory that can be upgraded to 32GBs using a micro SD card. The Coolpad Mega 5M smartphone is powered by a 2,00 mAh battery.

Coolpad Mega 5C smartphone features

The brand has priced the Coolpad Mega 5C at Rs 4,499 in India. This smartphone features a 5 megapixel camera, one each on the front and on the back side. It is powered by a 2500 mAH battery and is mated to a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.

Coolpad Mega 5 smartphone,  most expensive in the lot, sports a 5.7-inch FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Powered by a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, the Coolpad Mega 5 boosts a dual camera setup consisting of a 13-megapixel sensor and a 0.3-megapixel lens, at the back.

A front 5MP camera at the front supports face unlock feature. Coolpad has also equipped this smartphone with a fingerprint sensor. It is powered by a 3000 mAh battery and is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The Mega 5 is available in Blue, Gold and Dark grey colours.
