Envent Worldwide, the brand license owner of Thomson audio products in India, is focusing on building its presence in the online channel. The company will start retailing Thomson audio products in the offline channel post this festive season in India. It plans to add 500,000 customers to Thomson’s customer base in India this festive season.
Sukesh Madaan, CEO & founder, Envent told EFY Group that the first range of Thomson’s audio products will be exclusively launched on Amazon’s e-commerce portal. He said, “Thomson Audio will follow an Omni channel strategy for its range of products. The first set of products will be launched on Amazon online platform. We will be spreading out to other retail partners across the country very soon. The offline expansion will start taking place after Diwali. Till the festive season is over we want to concentrate on one channel and one strategy.”
It is to be noted here that Thomson now has two brand licenses in India. The brand licence of Thomson TVs is owned by Avneet Singh Marwah led Super Plastronics Private Limited and the brand license for Thomson audio products is now owned by Envent Worldwide.
Exploring corporate gifting options
Envent Worldwide will be using its present sales channel to market and retail Thomson’s audio products in India. The company is also exploring corporate gifting options as a medium of revenue in India. Diwali is known as one of the festivals when a lot of corporate house gift consumer electronics to their workforce as well their clients.
Sukesh Madaan shared, “Envent will be expanding both organically by offering it to their current data base and inorganically by adding new partners and retailers across the country. As mentioned above, the first step is to conquer online retail space and then win one battle at a time. We are also looking corporate gifting as a great vertical to expand. The sole objective is to reach out to end consumer as fast as possible and give them a great never forgetting experience.”
Focus on people falling in the 18 to 35 age group
The company, for now will be focusing on consumers falling in the 18 to 35 age group in India. Dubbed millenials, India’s population consists of close to 450 million people falling in this group.
Sukesh Madaan shared, “Thomson’s entire communication strategy, the product selection, the range will be developed considering them. We will be spreading across personal audio, home audio and audio accessory space and would be offering products in mid-premium price range. Technology is only good if its useful and is able to an astounding impact on the human lives in order to make it easy!”
Envent also has plans to take Thomson audio products to India’s neighbouring countries. Company’s CEO had earlier shared that it is looking to expand Thomson audio products in Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh
Online to omni-channel strategy
Enevnt is now focused towards Thomson’s audio products presence in the online channel. Thomson TVs are also majorly retailed through online channels in India. As a matter of fact, SPPL had bought Thomson TVs brand license approximately a year ago and the company since them has been focusing on its presence in the online channel.
Sukesh Madaan added, “The intent is to establish the brand profoundly then running for numbers and revenues. Thomson TV has created a niche for themselves in the market and now we will take it forward aggressively. The intent is to reach out to minimum 500,000 customers across India and offer them a fantastic brand experience and set up a base which can help us grow for years to come. We are here for a long haul and are planning accordingly!”
Planing door to door service
Most of the audio products falling under Thomson brand, as per Envent, will be covered under replacement policy. Envent currently has four service centers in four metro cities. The company also operates a toll free customer care number in India.
Sukesh Madaan said, “Most of the products especially personal audio ones, will be covered under replacement policy and rest we will service ourselves at our four central service centres across four metro cities. We have a central Toll free number and customer will reach out to that and rest we will take care ourselves. We don’t want them to stress themselves by going and figuring out service locations across the cities.”
He added, “We will offer a door to door service where we will pick up the faulty products from the customer end and will deliver the fresh/serviced at their door steps only.”
