Foxsky, an eight months old consumer electronics has turned its focus towards the online channel and Diwali sales in the India. The company has plans to start retailing LED TVs and washing machines via Paytm starting 25 October 2019 in India.
“Our focus is to create a brand image for ourselves in the online channel in India. We will be going all guns out this Diwali in India. We have sold around 75,000 TV units and more than 20,000 washing machine units in India in the offline channel so far. We though that Diwali would be the perfect time to announce our entry into the online channel,” shared Manish Bhardwaj, product head, Foxsky.
It is to noted here that Foxsky is a brainchild of Bhardwaj Group. Foxsky has been operating in India from last eight months.
Using past experience
Bhardwaj Group, apart from being present in the construction and petroleum business, has also been a supplier of many consumer electronics brands and products to the likes of Amazon and Flipkart in India. In fact, the group had opened its first multi brand consumer electronics showroom in India in 2006.
Manish explains, “We have been in the consumer electronics space since 2006 and it makes complete sense to enter the market now with our own brand. Foxsky wants to make consumer electronics as affordable as these can be in India.”
The company has its own manufacturing unit in India. Manish told EFY Group that Fosxky will be using this unit to assemble and manufacture TVs and other consumer electronics in the country.
Decision to go with Paytm
The company has collaborated with Paytm for its first round of entering the online consumer electronics sales in India. Foxsky informed that the sales of its first product line will go live on 25 October 2019.
“Foxsky will start retailing 32-inch TVs for Rs 2,999, 40-inch TVs for Rs 4,999 and 65-inch TVs for Rs 9,999 on Paytm. We will keep the numbers limited in the beginning and will reveal the exact prices after Diwali is over. It is obvious that these prices are for Diwali only and till the stocks last,” added Manish.
In the offline market from last eight months
Foxsky has been selling TVs and washing machines through the offline channel in India from last eight months. The company said that it has sold more that 75,000 TVs and 20,000 washing machines since its debut in the country.
“Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Orissa and Jharkhand are the major states in India that we are already present in via the offline channel. We have been doing quite good in these states. The step to go online is aimed towards further strengthening our presence in India in both the channels,” said Manish.
He added, “Our focus would be on the affordable consumer electronics segment in India. We might foray into the premium segment but that is something that will take time. For now, we want to sale the best of the products in least of the prices. One of the USPs of our TVs will be the voice assistance feature. We have developed this feature without taking help of Google Assistant.”
Refrigerators and ACs next launch
The company after expanding in the online and offline channel has plans to launch refrigerators and ACs in India. While the refrigerator launch has been scheduled for November 2019, Foxsky will enter the air-conditioners (ACs) vertical sometime in 2020.
Manish added, “While revenues are important, creating a brand image is critical. We will initially focus on creating a brand image for ourselves in India during this and the next year. We are sure that once we are able to do so, revenues and profits will come on their own!”
