Samsung Announces 4 Variants of Galaxy M Smartphones in India

Samsung M10 and M20 smartphones will compete against the likes of Realme Realme 2, Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Note Pro, Honor 10 Lite and Realme 2 Pro in the country. M Series seems to be targeted at the millennial generation.

Samsung India has announced the launch of Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M10 smartphones in the country. Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M10 will be available on Amazon India and Samsung India website from February 5, 2019 onwards.

 Smartphone War between Samsung and New Brands

The brand has priced the Galaxy M20 at Rs 12,990 for the 4GB+64GB variant, while the 3GB+32GB variant is priced at Rs 10,990. Galaxy M10 is priced at Rs 8,990 for the 3GB+32GB variant and Rs 7,990 for the 2GB+16GB. At these price points, Samsung M20 smartphone will lock horns with the likes of Redmi 6 Note Pro, Realme U1, Realme 2 Pro and Honor 10 Lite in India.

In fact, Redmi 6 Note Pro and Realme U1 are among the best-selling smartphone models in the Rs 10,000 to 15,000 smartphone segment. Samsung M10, on the other hand, will compete to capture market share against the likes of Realme 2, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6 Pro smartphones. All these smartphones are priced in the Rs 7,000 to 10,000 segment in the country.

Galaxy M20 and M10 Smartphone Features

Galaxy M20 comes with a true FHD+ 6.3-inch FHD+ infinity-V display, whereas Galaxy M10 has a HD 6.2-inch HD+ infinity-V display. Both Galaxy M20 and M10 feature Widevine L1 certification for streaming of HD content through popular apps.

Samsung has packed a 5000 mAh battery in Galaxy M20. The brand claims that type C fast-charging feature ensures 3X speed as compared to the normal charging, thanks to the 15W in-box charger. Galaxy M20 is powered by Samsung’s latest Exynos 7904 octa-core processor whereas Galaxy M10 is powered by Exynos 7870 octa-core processor.

Galaxy M20 comes with fingerprint as well as face unlock features. Galaxy M10 comes with face recognition unlock feature. Both Galaxy M20 and M10 sport dual rear cameras. These come with a 13MP primary rear camera that has F1.9 aperture. The secondary rear camera has a 5MP ultra-wide feature. Samsung’s official statement read, “The ultra-wide mode lets users capture more expansive photos with complete ease. It is perfectly suited for capturing landscapes, cityscapes, group photos, etc., when users want to fit a lot into one single frame.”

Galaxy M series comes with a new Samsung Experience version 9.5 UX, which, as per the brand, is optimized for a fast and smooth user experience. Both Galaxy M20 and M10 come with dedicated storage slot expandable up to 512 GB. The brand said that Galaxy M Series customers on Jio 4G would be entitled to double-data on Rs 198 and 299 plans.
