The company has been on an brand shop opening spree in India. These are its fifth and sixth exclusive brand shops in under six months time
Voltas has opened one exclusive brand shop in Mohali and Jalandhar each during the last two days. These shops as per the company are being used to showcase and retail Voltas ACs (Air-Conditioner) and Voltas Beko home appliances in both the locations.
Company’s official statement read, “The brand shops are being launched to meet the growing expectations of consumers floating from Mohali, Kharar, Jalandhar and nearby locations, with technologically advanced home appliance lineup for Voltas Beko.”
The company has been on an brand shop opening spree in India. The shops in Jalandhar (Shalimar Marketing) and Mohali (Khalsa Electronics) are its fifth and sixth exclusive brand shops in under six months time. Voltas claims that it has 24 per cent market share of the AC market in India. It also said that it enjoys 30 per cent AC market share in the State of Punjab.
Expansion after collaboration with Beko Home Appliances
Tata owned Voltas has been on an expansion spree across different parts of India in the last six months. Notably, the aggressive expansion phase had started after it had collaborated with Beko Home Appliances in 2018. Voltas since then, has opened six brand stores in India. These include one each in Haryana, Ranchi, Bokaro, Jamshedpur, Jalandhar and Mohali.
Noel Tata, Chairman, Voltas Limited, during the launch of Voltas Beko home appliances back in 2018, had said, “This new venture allows us to offer a wide variety of globally renowned products in the Indian market. Arcelik is a market leader in Europe and is on the cutting edge of innovation in the consumer durable segment. Voltas has established its credentials as a market leader in the AC segment with wide distribution reach and has strong brand recall. Together, we hope the Voltas Beko products will become an integral part of every Indian household.”
The company also claims that it has launched more than 100 SKUs (Semi Knocked Units) of home appliances during the last three months in India. These include 44 SKUs of refrigerators, 40 SKUs of washing machines, 12 SKUs of microwaves/ovens and 7 SKUs of dishwashers.
