Kent RO Systems’ Opens New Facility at Noida

Kent has come up with a new plant at Noida, with ongoing plans for the third one, to strengthen its water purifier business that will be operational from September last

Kent RO Systems, a familiar name in the water purifier business, is all set to roll out operations from its new plant at Noida. With an outlay of Rs. 150 crores, the brand-new addition will make a two-fold increase in its capacity to six lakh units per annum.

The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh government to make an investment worth Rs. 200 crores, which will also cover a third plant in the state, a plan under process to kickstart in four-five years. The new plant has a five-lakh unit capacity.

The new facility will start its functions from September 24 with its focus on adding on to the existing products. Mahesh Gupta, Chairman of Kent RO, said that the additional products will strengthen the water purifier business. He further said that the company intends to lead in this segment by increasing its exports.

Kent RO has an existing manufacturing centre at Roorkee, Uttarakhand, which has a capacity of 6 lakh units per annum. The water purifier maker has a market share of about 40 per cent and it exports about 5 per cent of its products to a few selected markets. The Chairman revealed that the company’s sales were valued at Rs 850 crore, up from Rs 760 crore it registered in the financial year before. The target turnover is set to increase to over Rs 950 crore by the end of the current financial year, 2018-19.

The chairman also said that the company has witnessed a 15 per cent CAGR and its goal is to achieve a turnover of Rs. 1500 crores. Kent RO has a range of 19 water-purifiers in the market. Its portfolio boasts of air, vegetable, fruit and water purifiers apart from a few home appliances. Around 85% of the company’s revenue comes from the water purifiers.
