Japan-based Panasonic has forecast its per share dividend plans for financial year 2019. The record date for the year-end dividend has been announced as 31 March 2019.
Dividend, in simple word, is the amount of money paid by a company to its shareholders form its profit figures. A lot of companies follow this policy worldwide.
Dividend announcement as per policy
Panasonic’s official statement read, “Panasonic Corporation today announced that its Board of Directors has resolved the forecast of year-end dividends for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2019.”
However, the company has also said that these are forward looking statements and may involve known and unknown risks. These may also lead to differences in Panasonic’s performance during the financial year.
The company said that the announcement of forecast dividends is as per its overall policy of distributing profits to share holders based on its business performance, as well as the current financial position.
