Jio plans to sell JioPhone at a price of Rs 699 during the upcoming festive season. Reliance had launched the Jiophone 2 feature phone in July 2017 and priced it at Rs 1,500.
Reliance says that the offer o will be available only during the festive season of Diwali and Dussehra. Jio claims that is also giving data benefits of Rs 700. For first seven recharges that the customer does, Jio will additionally add Rs 99 worth of data. This value adds up to the total price of Rs 1,500 according to the company.
According to Counterpoint Research, the JioPhone by Reliance Jio held a total market share of 47 percent, ahead of biggies like Samsung and Nokia in 2018. The report was published according to the numbers from the second quarter of 2018. In the second quarter of 2017, the phone’s market share was just at 0.3 percent.

JioPhone comes equipped with a 2.4-inch QVGA display with a screen resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The phone is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with Mali 400 GPU as the company claims. The phone comes with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. There is support for apps such as Facebook, Google Maps, WhatsApp, and YouTube among others.
Talk time of twelve hours
The company claims that JioPhone comes with a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front camera. The phone has a 2000mAh battery, which the company claims gives a talk time of 12 hours and standby time of 15 days. It supports 4G VoLTE, bluetooth 4.1 with BLE, GPS, NFC and micro USB 2.0.
