Image for representation only.The owner of the brand Thomson, Technicolor S.A in France, has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with the Envent Worldwide for the development of the audio range of products in India. Interestingly, the company is also present in the smart TVs market in India via the brand licensing route.
Sukhesh Madaan, CEO and founder, Envent Worldwide, added “We are very excited to partner with Thomson and bring their entire range of audio products in India and neighboring countries.”
Claire Villeneuve, head of Technicolor Trademark Licensing, said “This new licensing agreement is promising and illustrates the potential of the Indian Market as well as the increasing brand recognition of Thomson in India. We closely work with Envent to secure our customers high quality standards in respect with the brand positioning of Thomson.”
Plans to go international
Envent Worldwide informed that while Thomson audio products will now be available in India, the company also has plans to launch these in some of India’s neighbouring nations as well. Sukhesh Madaan said, “While we will start with India, we will very soon expand across Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh markets too. Indian customer will now be able to enjoy products of International quality standards, tuned to Indian music tastes.”
This partnership was facilitated by LicenseWorks, an India based corporate brand licensing agency. Thomson will be retailing its audio products exclusively on Amazon in India. Envent was formed in 2011. Thomson TV brand license, on the other hand, is currently handled by Super Plastronics Private Limited in India. It has been a year that SPPL has been retailing Thomson TVs in the country.
