Huawei is all set to launch Huawei Watch GT 2 with Kirin A1-powered chipset. The company claims the smartwatch can provide a battery life of up to two weeks as the Kirin A1 enables “incredibly” low power consumption.
Anticipated to bring in a paradigm shift
“The Kirin A1 is a very powerful chipset and is anticipated to bring in a paradigm shift in India’s wearable market,” said Tornado Pan, country manager, Huawei Consumer Business Group, Huawei India.
He added, “In line with our legacy of eliminating consumer pain points, products powered by this chipset will provide unparalleled performance, power efficiency, and connectivity.”
The company informed that Kirin A1 comes with a Bluetooth processing unit, an audio processing unit, an application processor and an independent power management unit.
Huawei Watch GT 2 comes with features like Bluetooth calling in the 46 mm series, in-device music, Message Notification, TruSleep 2.0 sleep tracking, and TruRelax pressure monitoring.
According to the International Data Corporation’s (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker, the Indian market for wearable devices grew 30.9 per cent Quarter-over-Quarter (QoQ) in the second quarter of CY2019 (2Q19) and 123.6 per cent when compared to the same quarter a year ago, reaching an all-time high of three million shipments in a single quarter. This has further cemented India’s position as the third-largest wearables market in the world after China and the USA.
