Nokia Introduces a Smartphone with Five-Camera Setup

The company has also introduced three more smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2019. It appears as if HMD Global is planning to target all categories of mobile devices in future

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, has announced four new Android smartphones. The smartphone models unveiled by the company include – Nokia 9 PureView, Nokia 4.2, Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 1 Plus. HMD Global has also unveiled a new feature phone – the Nokia 210 at the MWC 2019.

The company’s official statement read, “From Nokia 9 PureView to the Nokia 210 – the company’s most affordable internet-enabled feature phone – consumers can trust there is a Nokia phone that meets their distinct needs.”

Nokia 9 PureView features

Nokia 9 PureView is the world’s first smartphone featuring a five-camera array system with ZEISS Optics. It has two colour sensors(5) and three monochromatic sensors. The company claims that all five cameras work together to collect up to ten times the amount of light than a single-colour sensor of the same type.

The company’s official statement read, “Maximising the heterogeneous computing architecture of the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ mobile platform and featuring a dedicated imaging co-processor, the Nokia 9 PureView gives you a glimpse into the future of smartphone photography with unparalleled control over your images through the updated Pro Camera UI.”

Nokia 4.2 smartphone features

Nokia 4.2, as per the company, has been designed to offer the latest smartphone innovations at a truly affordable price. It features a dual-rear camera, AI innovations and the latest-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. The smartphone’s OS is based on Android 9 Pie.

HMD Global released a statement that read, “Premiering the Google Assistant button, the Nokia 4.2 will revolutionise the way you engage with your smartphone. Simply press once for instant access to the Google Assistant to get help, double press to receive a visual snapshot of your day from the Google Assistant with intelligent suggestions and personalised information and long press the button to activate a walkie-talkie mode, which lets the Google Assistant listen to you until you release it for long-sentence queries.”

Sarvikas added, “We believe great experiences should be available to everyone, which is why we are bringing cutting-edge experiences like the stunning design, the best of Google including the dedicated Google Assistant button, and great imaging and display technology, at the most accessible price points yet.”

Nokia 3.2 smartphone

The Nokia 3.2 smartphone, as claimed by the company, features up to two-day battery life. Like Nokia 4.2 it is also powered by the latest Android 9 Pie. The Nokia 3.2 features a 15.90-cm (6.26-inch) HD+ display.

It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 mobile platform. Nokia 3.2 also comes with the Google Assistant button.

The Nokia 1 Plus smartphone and the Nokia 210 feature phone

Targeting the entry-smartphone category, the Nokia 1 Plus, is a new member in the Android (Go edition) smartphone family. The company said that Nokia 1 Plus brings solid imaging in a high-quality Nokia design with a big screen, at exceptionally accessible price points.

The Nokia 210 is a new addition to Nokia’s feature phone family. The company is claiming it to be the most affordable internet device. An official statement released by the company read, “Surf the web with the Opera Mini web browser and stay up-to-date with your friends and family on Facebook without worrying about battery. Fans can make the Nokia 210 their own by downloading their favourite apps, ringtones and wallpapers straight from the Mobile Store.”
