After announcing its collaboration with Micromax in India last month, Huawei is all set to take a major leap in the offline sales channel in India. The company has announced that it will be retailing first pop-up camera smartphone across online as well as offline sales channels in the country.
Tornado Pan, country head, Huawei Consumer Business Group, India had recently said, ““Since our very entry into the Indian market, the brand has been witnessing overwhelming response from all section of consumers. With an aim to be present where our consumers are, we plan to focus on a robust offline distribution network catering to the needs of consumers in urban as well as the rural regions of the country and to make them experience the innovative technology that has won the hearts of customers’ world over.”
Promotional offers
It is to be noted here that Huawei has also announced promotional offers for its first pop-up camera smartphone in India. Company’s official statement read, “Priced at INR 15,990, the 4 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM variant of the device will be available in two mesmerizing colours- Sapphire Blue & Emerald Green along with other exciting pre-book offers. Offline customers pre-booking the device will get a classic combination of Huawei Sport BT headphones and 15600 mAh power bank worth Rs. 4598 absolutely free. Customers will get an opportunity to buy the device on 12 months No-Cost EMI.”
It continued, “Huawei has also introduced special offers through its partnership with Reliance Jio. Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 users on getting a recharge of Rs. 198/Rs. 299 will get Rs. 2200 cashback and 125 GB Additional 4G Data. These Cashback vouchers can be redeemed, one at a time, against subsequent recharges of Rs. 198 and 299 via MyJio app only. In addition, upon availing recharges of Rs. 198/Rs. 299, 5 GB additional data voucher, limited to 25 recharges will be credited in user’s MyJio account.”
Phased expansion in the offline space
Under a phased expansion plan, the idea, as per Huawei, is to be present across the country starting from cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Kochi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dehradun, Kolkata and Jaipur will be targeted among others. Currently, Huawei primarily sells through retail partners to reach out to its existing and potential customers across the length and breadth of the country.
Sunil Joon, head, strategy, Micromax Informatics, had earlier said, “We are looking at boosting our services and strengthening our association with our existing and potential customers. The two brands will be seamlessly complementing each other as Huawei has its prowess in the premium smartphones segment and Micromax is popular in mass segment of smartphones.”
