Redmi 8 will be launched in India on ninth October. Before the launch, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi 8 will come with Type C port and fast charging support which the Redmi 7 did not have.
A recent tweet by Xiaomi global VP Manu Kumar Jain read that the Redmi 8 will come with a Type-C port. Another tweet by Redmi India revealed Redmi 8 will be equipped with fast charging support in addition to a bigger battery compared to the Redmi 7.

It is expected that the phone will be priced under Rs 10,000 just like the Redmi 7. Redmi will retail the phone on e commerce channel Flipkart after its launch on ninth of October.
Backed up by a 5000mAh battery with 18W charging support
As per speculation, Redmi 8 will come with a have 15.9 cm (6.26-inch) HD+ 2.5D curved glass dot-notch display with a resolution of 1520 × 720 pixels. The phone will also have a 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 chipset. It will run Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10.0.1.3 on top. The tweet by Manu Kumar Jain mentions that the phone will be splash and scratch resistant.
It will come with three storage options – 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The storage can be expanded to 512GB with a microSD card. It will be backed up by a 5000mAh battery with 18W charging support.
The phone will have connectivity options like Dual SIM, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and a USB Type C port. The phone will measure 156.3×75.4×9.4mm and weighs 190 grams.
Dual rear camera setup
It is also expected that the phone will have a dual rear camera setup with 12-megapixel as the primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with LED flash. On the front, the phone will have an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The company will sell the phone in four colours -ash, blue, green and red.
