JVC has announced the launch of six new smart LED TVs in India. These include two variants of 39-inch smart TVs, three variants of 32-inch smart TVs and one 24-inch smart TV. It is to be noted here that JVC brand liccense is owned by Viera Group in India.
Company’s official statement read, “The range of TV includes HD LED TV with Inbuilt Soundbar (39N380C), HD LED TV with Inbuilt Bluetooth (32N380C & 24N380C), HD LED Smart TV (32N385C)and HD Intelligent Smart LED TV – (39N3105C & 32N3105C) the first being the 32inch – 32N3105C Smart LED TV.”
JVC said that it has used an intelligent UI in the TVs. This UI reads user interests and keeps them posted with what’s trending on the home page. Viera Group is retailing these TVs using Flipkart e-commerce portal in the country.
Smart TV sales picking pace in India
The sales of smart TVs have picked great pace in India. According to a report by Research and Market, India Smart TV Market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 30.2 per cent during 2018-24. Households in India are at a cusp of transition and a shift in preference has been witnessed from conventional TV sets to smart TV sets. Changing lifestyle of middle income population is attributed to rise in income level, increasing awareness, adoption of new technology and increasing internet penetration. Additionally, government initiatives primarily in tier-II and tier-III cities are some of the key factors which are likely to bolster the growth of Indian smart TV market during the forecast period.
The report read, “Substantial investment flows by video streaming media companies like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hotstar led to an increase in the number of Pay-Tv subscribers. Furthermore, rise in disposable income levels and growing internet penetration in the country also contributed to an increase in sales of smart TVs.”
500 inbuilt content providing applications
The compnay says that it has embedded the UI of these TVs with new AI algorithms. This AI, as per JVC, reads users interests and keeps them posted on trending topics on home page.
JVC’s official statement read, “Supporting over 1 million hours of Content to the users, the 32″ Smart LED TV shows trending Music, Movies on the Home screen. With more than 500 Inbuilt Content providing applications (Netflix, YouTube etc) powered by JVC Store and Netrange Portal, maximize your entertainment.”
It continued, “The TV is equipped with Cortex-A53 Quad Core (64 BIT) @ 1.5 GHz Mali- 450MP Panta Core 750 MHz and operates on Mali 450 Android version along with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of ROM. Having support of Dual UI with Sensy, users can access multiple content at the same time based on the interests and as per the trends, even through Set-top box or any other Online app.”
