Kodak Aims to Capture 10 Per cent TV Market Share in Karnataka

Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd (SPPL), the owner of Thomson as well as Kodak brand TVs in India, seems to have set eyes on the TV market in Karnataka. The company has recently launched products in its XPRO series of KODAK 434KXPRO, 50 4KXPRO and 55 4KXPROTVs. These products are coupled with an impressive array of features like one GB memory and RAM capacity of up to eight GB.

Avneet Singh Marwah, director, SPPL said, “The strong traction Kodak HD LED TV has received in the past three years is a testament of our confidence of leveraging Kodak’s brand legacy and revitalizing its brand recall in the minds of customers across India. We have started our journey by launching on online e-commerce channels to ensure immediate brand visibility and slowly and gradually we have grown to be present in 2300 cities and towns approximately.”

Three years in India

Sppl has recently completed three years as owner of Kodak’s brand license in India. The Indian manufacturer of TVs is now expecting a five to 50-fold growth of buyers during this festive season. All the Kodak products, as per the company will be available on leading e-commerce platforms Amazon and Flipkart on lucrative deals and discounts.

Kodak’s official statement read, “Karnataka is an important market for the brand and with presence in over 2300 cities and towns, he aims to capture 10 per cent market share in Karnataka by 2020.”

The company is already present at large format stores like Croma in Karnataka. SPPL might also be looking for further expanding in the offline channel in order to capture 10 per cent market TV market share in Karnataka.

SPPL has three manufacturing facilities in India. It has an employee strength of over 1000 people. SPPL’s TV brands are available at over 500 selling points covering over 16000 pin-codes in the country.
