As per a report by Economic Times, tech giant Apple is likely to open its first company owned outlet in Mumbai’s Maker Maxity mall in Bandra Kurla complex co owned by Reliance Industries. The report also says that Apple has leased around 20,000-25,000 sq ft space covering three floors of the mall.
Opens in September next year
The report also says that a team from the company’s US office is now in Mumbai to look after the layout and design of the store that will most likely open in September of next year. The report says that Apple is importing furniture and it will take about 8 months to finish the work before it opens to the public.
Iphone 11 recently launched
Apple has recently launched its latest iphone 11 series at the Steve Jobs Theatre in the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. The iphone 11 succeeds the iPhone XR. According to Apple, the phone comes with A13 Bionic chip which is its fastest chip so far. The phone is priced at Rs 64,990. Apple also launched iphone 11 Pro and iphone 11 Pro Plus.
The Pro series come with triple camera system integrated into the iOS, the first of its kind from Apple. The iPhone 11 Pro starts at Rs 99,900 and the iPhone 11 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,09,900.
Operate on 3 levels
The report by ET says that the company owned and company operated store of Apple in Mumbai will be like the one at Hong Kong. The report also says that the store will operate on three levels with one floor as experience centre, second one for retailing and the topmost one as service centre.
The company had recently posted quarterly revenue of $53.8 billion, for the June quarter, an increase of one per cent from the year-ago quarter, and quarterly earnings per diluted share of $2.18, down 7 percent.
