Royole Unveils FlexPai 2 Second-Generation Foldable Smartphone

Royole has unveiled the FlexPai 2 second-generation foldable smartphone. The company has not revealed the exact price of the phone. It has also not revealed details about the availability of the phone but it is slated to make its debut in the second quarter of this year. Royole has partnered with ZTE to expand the use cases of its flexible display technology.

The smartphone features the third-generation Cicada Wing flexible display. It comes with a JNCD (Just Noticeable Color Difference) below 0.6 with 1.2 times faster response time that is 0.4ms. The company claimed that the new display panel has a bend radius of 1mm and can last over for over 200,000 bends. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC.

Eliminates the layer peeling effect

Royole also said that it has used its proprietary OLED technology that eliminates the layer peeling effect. The display has comes in 19.81 cm (7.8- inch) size with a 4:3 aspect ratio. As per claims, it has a 1.3x better color gamut and 500x better contrast over a traditional high-end LCD panel. It has a quad rear camera setup with a dual LED flash and true stereo speakers.
