A day before the latest superhero movie ‘Spider-Man – Far From Home’ makes its world premiere, Chinese smartphone maker realme has unveiled an exclusive realme X Spider-Man edition in India.

The smartphone comes with a special gift box comprising a limited edition protective case and a preinstalled ColorOS 6 Spiderman theme.

With its latest tagline, ‘Dare to Leap’, realme is trying to tap into the popular appeal of Spider-Man in the country.

Speaking on the launch of the special edition, Madhav Sheth, Co-founder & CEO – realme, said, “This brand proposition also resonates with Spider-Man, a much-loved superhero who has stood out amidst a galaxy of superstars and made his own place in the hearts and minds of people across the globe.

“With the launch of realme X Spider-Man edition and the special gift box, we are celebrating this shared synergy and giving our customers a chance to have a deeper engagement with their friendly neighbourhood superhero,” he added.

Spider-Man themed surprises for users!

What makes realme X Spider-Man edition special is its exclusive themed UI inspired by Spider-Man. It also has a customized wallpaper and icon pack.

Apart from the smartphone itself, the special realme X Spider-Man: Far From Home gift box also includes a Spider-Man themed phone case and a charger.

The company will reveal realme X Spider-Man edition price and sales details during realme X launch event on July 15.

realme is owned by China’s BBK Group that also owns Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus. So far, the company has launched eight products, which includes realme 1, realme 2, realme 3, realme 2 Pro, realme 3 Pro, realme U1, realme C1 and realme C2.

Expanding business in India

realme, which started operations last year May, is currently present in 8,000 offline stores in 50 cities across India and offline sales accounts for 20 percent of its revenue. The company is planning to increase its offline presence to 20,000 outlets in 150 cities.

The company recently inked a deal with South’s leading cellphone retail chain, Sangeetha Mobile, to sell its products.

As per both Counterpoint and IDC, realme has become the fourth largest smartphone brand in India since Q4 2018.

Meanwhile, CMR has claimed realme as No. 1 emerging brand and No. 1 quality smartphone brand in India.
