Xioami Launches Redmi Router AC2100, Redmi AI Speaker Play

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi AI Speaker Play and Redmi Router AC2100 in China.It has priced the speaker at CNY 79 ( approx Rs 800) and the router at CNY 169 ( approx Rs 1,700 ). The company will put the speaker and the router for its first sale on 12th December. The company has not provided any information on the availability of these products in India.

The Redmi AI Speaker Play comes with a 5W speaker and has a dotted mesh design with five LEDs at the top. It has a 350cc sound cavity and runs 3rd generation in-house XiaoAI virtual assistant. As per Xiaomi, the virtual assistant will give the user a choice between a male and female voice. It supports over 1,400 skills and can be used to control smart home appliances from Xiaomi, Philips and other brands says the company.

Six signal amplifiers

The Redmi Router AC2100 will offer dual-band 2.4GHz + 5GHz support. It can connect up to 128 devices and can provide a connectivity speed of over 2Gbps claimed the company. The router also comes with six omnidirectional high gain antennas and six signal amplifiers to give better network coverage. It is powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 880MHz. It can connect Xiaomi’s smart home appliances through the Mi Home app without any authentication requirement.
