Arijeet Talapatra, CEO, Transsion India, at that time had said, “India is a priority market for us and five crore + discerning customers in such a short span reinstates the trust and love of customers for brand itel. Our approach of providing futuristic technology and magical product features in sub 5k category has made itel the leader in this segment.”
Tecno, on the other hand, has been quite active in the marketing arena in India. Apart from launching brand campaigns, it had also teamed up with Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kings XI Punjab this last season.
Transsion Holdings had first entered India with itel brand in April 2016. Tecno and Infinix were launched in India in 2017.
