The brand claims that α6400 camera features real-time eye autofocus, real-time tracking and world’s fastest autofocus

Sony India has introduced α6400 camera as a new addition to its E-mount mirror-less cameras line-up. The brand claims that it is capable of high-speed shooting at up to 11 fps with AF/AE, 4K video recording and a 180-degree tiltable LCD touch.
Brand’s official statement said that the features of α6400 makes it an ultimate tool for all types of creators ranging from professionals to everyday v-loggers. Priced at Rs 75,990 for the body only, the camera does look targeted towards professional v-loggers in the country. Sony will also be offering the same in Rs 85,999 clubbed with a SELP1650 16-50mm lens, and at Rs 1,09,990 clubbed with a SEL18135 18-135mm lens.
An official statement released by the brand read, “Taking a leap in nurturing the dynamic photography culture, Sony India today introduced the α6400 (Model ILCE-6400), a new addition to its E-mount mirror-less camera line-up. The α6400 is a perfect amalgamation of Sony’s most advanced technologies from their acclaimed full-frame lineup in a compact, lightweight APS-C camera. The speedy new camera boasts the world’s fastest1 autofocus (AF) acquisition of 0.02 seconds, while also introducing the new advanced “Real-time Eye AF” and ”Real-time Tracking” capabilities.”
Sony α6400 mirror-less camera features
Sony’s new α6400 is equipped with a 24.2 MP APS-C sized image sensor which is paired with an upgraded BIONZ X processor. Standard ISO ranges up to ISO 32000 for both still and movie, and is expandable up to ISO 102400 for still images. The new camera also features 425 phase-detection AF points and 425 contrast-detection AF points that, as per Sony, are densely placed over the entire image area, covering approximately 84 per cent of the image area.
The α6400 also comes equipped with advanced Real-time Eye AF technology, which is also the latest version of Sony’s acclaimed Eye AF technology. This technology, as per Sony, employs artificial intelligence (AI) based object recognition to detect and process eye data in real time, resulting in enhanced accuracy, speed and tracking performance of Eye AF.
Another feature on the camera is a fully 180-degree tiltable, 3.0-type LCD flip screen with 921k-dots of resolution. The LCD screen is also equipped with touch functionality, with options for touch pad, touch focus, touch shutter and new touch tracking.
